  • Results Day 2024

    Published 05/08/24

We would like to wish all of our students who sat their SQA examinations last term the best of luck for their results tomorrow, Tuesday the 6th of August.  We hope that students receive not only the grades they were expecting but even better!

Text messages and emails will be sent to candidates who have registered with MySQA, from 08:00 onwards on Results Day. If you have opted to receive your results by post, it will depend on when your mail normally arrives.

All candidates have been sent a results day leaflet which explains the results and the appeals process.  An electronic version can be found here.   Please read this leaflet carefully.

In the event that candidates feel that their grade is not correct, they may be eligible to appeal. Teachers will be available to discuss any appeals with students from the start of the new school term on Tuesday the 20th of August. Mrs Reid will be in school tomorrow morning from 9am -1pm and will be available to discuss any more urgent issues or questions that candidates or parents/carers may have.

Any pupils who wish to make an appeal, either through Learner Direct or through the school, please complete this Google form so we can progress this and arrange and for a member of staff to discuss this at the start of term. Google Form Link

  • Traditional Compostion Workshop

    Published 26/06/24

Last week we welcomed Duncan Chisholm and Hamish Napier to Inverness Royal Academy where 55 pupils took part in their Traditional Composition Workshop.

The pupils were taught a range of compositional methods and worked collaboratively to create an original piece of music. They were asked to choose a stimulus for the music and after many different ideas were suggested they finally decided to base it on The Battle of Culloden.

The pupils were a credit to the school and we were blown away with all their creative ideas and suggestions.

Well done to all involved and a special thank you to Duncan and Hamish! We loved having you here.

    Top Reader Commendations!

This morning we awarded 4 of our students a Top Reader commendation for their commitment to reading over the last year. As we work towards Reading Schools Accreditation, we would like to take every opportunity available to acknowledge the students who go above and beyond to encourage others to read, who maintain reading habits that we know will benefit them tremendously, and who continue to contribute positively to a culture of reading. Well done to this year's Top Readers!

  • Rights Respecting Schools Gold Award!

    Published 25/06/24

We are delighted to share that we have officially achieved the Rights Respecting Schools Gold Award!  It is wonderful that the excellent work of the staff, pupils and our whole school community, to embed Children's Rights across the school and curriculum has been recognised. The assessor identified in their final report that we have “passionate and confident pupils who are clear on the importance of rights and are empowered to drive change within the school”. They also made comment on the “strategic approach by senior leaders and RRSA leads” and our “passionate teaching staff and parents, embedding a rights-based approach, putting it at the core of the school’s ethos”.

We are the first secondary school in the North of Scotland to achieve this accolade.  Thank you to all who supported us achieve this. What a way to end the term!
